Dhadi Lambadi Hakkula Sadhana Samithi

Welcome to “Dhadi Lambadi Hakkula Sadhana Samithi”

Founded by Raghu Naik, “Dhadi Lambadi Hakkula Sadhana Samithi” is a testament to the commitment to tribal welfare. Our mission goes beyond advocacy; it’s about creating a platform where the rights and aspirations of the Dhadi Lambadi community are not just recognized but actively pursued.

Dhadi Lambadi Hakkula Sadhana Samithi is an organization with a primary mission to safeguard our rights and promote the development of the Dhadi community. The emphasis is on uncovering the historical significance of our community, which was shaped by Adivasi communities, specifically the Gonds, preceding the Lambadas.

Main Objectives of DLHSS:

Currently, there is mounting pressure from tribals, particularly the Gonds, urging the central and state governments to exclude Lambadas from Scheduled Tribe reservations. However, what remains unknown to many is the diversity within the Lambadi community, comprising various sub-castes such as Ghor Lambada, Dhadi Lambada, Dhaliya Lambada, Sanar Lambada, Navi Lambada, Singariya Lambada, Rangariya Lambada, Bhaat Lambada, and more.

Surprisingly, only a small percentage, approximately 10 to 15%, of Lambadas reap the benefits of reservations in social, political, academic, and educational spheres. The remaining 85% of Lambadas do not enjoy the advantages of government reservations, leading to dire situations in some Telangana districts where parents are compelled to sell their children for basic needs.

In the state of Telangana, Dhadi Lambadis face a lack of representation in legislative bodies, Parliament, municipalities, corporations, and gram panchayats. The envisioned outcomes of reservations, envisioned by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, have not materialized at the grassroots level. This disparity is the driving force behind the call to increase the reservation percentage from 6% to 10% in Telangana.

To address the challenges faced by the backward and depressed sub-castes among Lambadis, both state and central governments are urged to recognize and provide special attention. Dhadi Lambadi Hakkula Sadhana Samithi is established with the dual purpose of preserving the culture, traditions, and rights of the Dhadi community and bringing to light the genuine history of Dhadi Samaj. It seeks acknowledgement from both central and state governments to propel the development and growth of our community.

Our Vision:

At the heart of our organization is a vision for a community where every individual is empowered, where education is a catalyst for progress, and where essential services reach every corner. Raghu Naik’s founding principles guide us as we work towards a future where Dhadi Lambadi communities thrive.
